SUMMARY:
The Regional Safety Specialist is responsible for execution of safety initiatives and programs in a defined business region. This position will ensure MAU business units comply with MAU’s risk management standards and directives. This individual will advance to the highest level of quality through continuous improvement of our service delivery system and strive to exceed customers’ expectations.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree - minimum
- 5 years manufacturing experience in HR and Safety, 8 years preferred
- GSP, ASP, or CSP certified
- Current General Industry OSHA Outreach Instructor (Completed OTI 511 and 501)
- Public Speaking Experience
- Previous staffing/recruiting experience
- Previous HR, Operations & SHE (Safety, Environmental & Health) experience in a manufacturing setting
- Previous workers compensation claims management experience
- Certified Workers Compensation Professional in at least one state
- Leadership on a board or committee (SHRM, ASSE, NSC or Chamber of Commerce)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct safety program at the regional level
- Analyze accident and safety data for reporting and recommendations to company management
- Train company and customer personnel in various safety related activities and in implementation of safety programs
- Manage, update, and provide training for company’s EHSIS
- Ensures compliance of OSHA reporting (where applicable) for regulatory requirements
- Ensures company’s compliance with state and federal safety regulations and laws
- Ensures MAU’s accident investigation process reduces risk at project sites
- Designs and implements safety and risk related policies
- Live safety by identifying hazards, correcting harmful conditions, and improving MAU’s safety culture, particularly in your division and team
