REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years related experience, OR Master’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years related experience
- Experience in chemical manufacturing and chemical plant operations
- Estimation of capital costs, and feasibility studies of chemical plant operations
- Experience in Process Safety Management knowledge and experience (HAZOP, PHA and MOC)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Able to manage multiple projects/tasks and adjust priorities as necessary
- Must be able to establish and sustain effective relationships with all stakeholders in order to foster an environment where innovation and cooperation are used to solve problems
- Able to influence others through demonstrated competence and respect with data and facts
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access; CAD (preferred)
- Strong communication skills
- Detail oriented
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain Safety as the number one priority in conducting daily responsibilities, responding to production team needs, and developing and implementing process improvements for quality, waste and productivity improvement
- Manage and direct the maintenance department to include training and developing employee skill sets
- Manage and implement multiple capital projects, permits, and perform engineering functions in a plant production environment
- Provide support to manufacturing in the evaluation, purchase, installation and optimization of production equipment
- Develop and maintain reliability improvement / tracking programs for critical assets
- Serve as leader and/ or member of cross-functional teams to improve quality, safety, reliability, increases in capacity, reducing operating and energy costs as well as resolve equipment problems
- Perform root-cause failure analysis on component and critical equipment failures to include resolution and corrective action implementation
- Oversee repairs to critical equipment and performance testing of new equipment as needed
- Develop, oversee and optimize preventative maintenance program for existing and new equipment
- Participate and actively lead in department/plant safety and environmental programs
- Develop / Review / Maintain equipment specifications as related to purchasing, installation, operation, performance, and maintenance / repairs
- Provide day-to-day engineering support for plant manufacturing, facilities, utilities, and maintenance
- Facilitate the manufacturing of products with a focus on safety, quality and efficiency
- Manage relationships with contactors, vendors, and service providers (janitorial, security, utility, etc.)
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed
