Join our team at South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) as an Industrial Electrician and meet the world! As the Industrial Electrician, you will maintain a high level of reliability for heavy lift equipment and the Heavy Lift Maintenance Department. This is a direct-hire opportunity.
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED
Trident Technical College Associate in Occupational Technology, Electrician: Automation and Instrumentation Program
OR 4+ years apprenticeship program
OR 3+ years’ experience as a journeyman electrician in industrial type work with motors and generators, variable speed drives, and PLCs
1+ years’ experience in an industrial work environment
Valid South Carolina driver’s license
Basic computer skills
Technical reading and writing skills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide rapid responses and resolutions to trouble calls while heavy lift equipment is in operation
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to designated heavy lift equipment and Heavy Lift Maintenance Department equipment in an efficient and proper manner
Perform assigned tasks in compliance with applicable safety, hazardous material, and environmental policies, rules, and regulations
Maintain high housekeeping standards both during and at the completion of all tasks
Complete the training and qualifications in the required time frame to perform Maintenance While Operating (MWO)
Maintain adequate technical knowledge and skills to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heavy lift equipment
Document all work activities performed in a timely and accurate manner.
Complete all payroll related records (e.g., labor tickets, leave slips) in a timely and proper manner
Assist in the training of trainees and apprentices.
Assist with the installation, testing, and acceptance of new or modified heavy lift equipment
