SUMMARY:

REQUIREMENTS:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or Packaging Science
- 5+ years direct experience
- Ability to lead multiple projects to successful completion under tight timelines
- Ability to thrive in a team environment and to coordinate/drive activities across many functional groups
- Applicable knowledge of Solidworks or other CAD software
- Applicable knowledge of Graphic Design packages (Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
- Applicable knowledge of Printers and Software for Labels and Barcodes
- Applicable knowledge of Minitab or other statistics tools.
- Working knowledge of Change Control process
- ERP system knowledge (preferred)
- Working knowledge of ASTM ISTA 3E Certification, ASTM D4491-71, ASTM-F1980, and ASTM D6653 (preferred)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Apply packaging design principles from the Medical Device/Pharmaceutical fields to develop appropriate packaging solutions
- Complete packaging/labeling/user document design requirements working with various groups (Regulatory, Marketing, Supply Chain, R and D, Manufacturing, User Experience)
- Partner with Quality to perform required shipping/distribution testing to meet ASTM/ISTA standards
- Ensure compliance with 21CFR820.120 Device Labeling requirements as well as 21CFR820.130 Device Packaging
- Support procurement effort with identification and evaluation of packaging suppliers
- Write and maintain appropriate documentation. Manage change control process for all packaging documentation
- Execute technical product documentation and design (drafting, modeling, procedures etc.) to support project completion
- Continually assess the Packaging, Labeling and related procedures for continual improvement. Implement improvements as necessary
- Provide packaging and labeling support during regulatory audits
- Provide packaging support to multiple facilities
