Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator

REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate degree in Safety Management, Safety Engineering, or similar certification or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- 1+ years of professional experience in environmental, health, and safety, OR a combination of education and experience
- Thorough knowledge of safety principles and federal/local regulations, including knowledge of OSHA regulations applicable to the manufacturing industry
- Extraordinary discretion and flexibility, with the ability to work with sensitive and confidential materials
- Proficient computer skills, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Solid organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with many types of personalities
- Sound judgment and discretionary skills, with the ability to work with little supervision
- Ability to consistently work under pressure and simultaneously prioritize multiple projects
- Experience with safety programs such as PPE, Electrical Safety, Lockout/Tag out, Blood Borne Pathogen, Machine Guarding, Forklift, Hazard Communication, and other programs
- Working knowledge of chemical safety and hygiene
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language
- Clean driving record and a valid, current driver’s license and vehicle insurance
- Willingness and capacity to travel for up to 50% of assigned duties
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Investigate incidents and assist in corrective actions
- Conduct job hazard analyses and provide recommendations on preventative/corrective action where EHS hazards exist
- Interact with all departments assisting with EHS issues
- Train employees on EHS programs
- Manage training portal and employee updates for MO
- Maintain EHS records
- Perform administrative duties for the EHS department, including but not limited to general data entry and filing of training records, compliance documentation, and other EHS records
- Develop and support the implementation of various safety policies and programs
- Handle confidential information
- Maintain EHS Regulatory Reporting Systems for the MO site
- Maintain current knowledge of Federal/State Regulatory Requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA, ANSI), latest EHS trends, policies, regulations, and best practices
- Meet with the management team to define EHS goals and objectives
- Provide solutions and intervention strategies for hygiene, health, and safety hazards
- Implement new health and safety protocols and measures to ensure compliance with regulations
- Monitor operational processes and employee activities
- Generate assessment documentation, incident and accident reports, and health and safety manuals
- Report to management, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies
- Prepare and submit health and safety compliance documents to the relevant organizations
- Provide regular reports to the EHS Manager on the results of the safety program in MO
- Support and coordinate Corporate EHS programs and initiatives
- Assist EHS Senior Manager with other HDPE locations as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
