Spec Tech – QMM6.6 Measurement Lab
SUMMARY:

As the Spec Tech, you will identify trends, periodically analyze equipment/machine problems, perform necessary adjustments on manufacturing equipment, identify root causes and initiate corrective actions. REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma
- Able to communicate effectively with supervision and other personnel with the ability to create clear technical instructions
- Experience with programming and operating coordinate measuring machinery (CMM)
- Familiar with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel)
- Demonstrates self-initiative
- Basic knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, print-reading and mechanics
- Mechanical proficiency, leadership ability, and teamwork
- Must be willing to work on alternate shifts and must demonstrate the ability to adapt to changes
- Flexible to work other shifts as needed
- Experience with Zeiss, Mitutoyo, Keyence, or similar equipment (preferred)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Program, set-up and operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and other equipment to inspect various automotive products
- Review specifications including CAD models and drawings and select appropriate measuring equipment and inspection method
- Monitor databases and Work-In-Process areas and schedule own work to meet deadlines and maintain flow
- Prepare inspection reports and enter information in databases
- Review supplier inspection results
- Identify and follow-up on deviations and spare parts needs with engineers, gauge owners and suppliers
- Analyze and troubleshoot problems and carry out corrective actions
- Assist with purchasing of supplies, equipment, and outside services
