SUMMARY:
Expand your professional portfolio as a Safety Manager with MAU’s client in Lancaster, SC. The Safety Manager is responsible for implementing programs to ensure the Safety of employees as well as compliance to Safety and Environmental laws and regulations. This is a direct-hire opportunity.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience in safety management or related area
- OR Associate’s degree with 10+ years of progressive experience in safety management
- 3+ years of related experience in a manufacturing or GMP environment
- 3+ years of supervision experience
- Certification in EHS programs and practices
- Corrective Action/Preventive Action Program (CAPA) familiarity
- Experience in CAPA use to follow up and track remediation to safety inspection findings and trend and monitor effectiveness of implemented corrections
- Radiation Safety Certification/Training (desired)
- Ability to manage multiple complicated priorities and tasks
- Strong judgement and decision-making skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Ability to interface with all types of contractors and vendors using excellent communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety roles, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the strategic direction of the safety initiatives and programs at 2 facilities
- Develop, implement, monitor, and manage safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Ensure organizational compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations
- Evaluate the organization’s procedures, facilities, and equipment to identify unsafe conditions for improvement
- Manage all environmental permitting and Hazardous Waste programs
- Perform internal audits and maintain familiarity with a Corrective Action/Preventive Action Program (CAPA)
- Participate in and lead incident investigations, identifying the root cause and developing/monitoring action plans to prevent recurrence
- Research and recommend safety equipment for purchase
- Review completed JHA’s and provide direction and resources to accomplish recommendations
- Maintain all safety and accident records
- Maintain compliance with and stay current on all OSHA regulations
- Develop and participate in the training of employees on safety and security policies, procedures, and regulations, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations
- Enforce sound safety and housekeeping practices in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
- Manage Worker’s Compensation cases and OSHA 300 logs
- Participate in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures
- Prepare budget and secure estimates and cost quotes as needed
- Operate within the approved budget regarding the expenses for environmental and safety services and supplies
- Develop and maintain a positive and proactive relationship with management, employees, and local regulatory agencies
- Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to facilitate a team-work approach, by combining the expertise and manpower of both departments for the completion of environmental, safety, and security related projects
- Facilitate monthly safety meetings to report safety initiatives and plant status to management
- Advise Senior Management on environmental and safety compliance concerns and preventative actions
- Communicate effectively with other departments within the organization, and function within a team environment
- Perform other assigned duties as may be required in meeting company objectives
