Supply Planner

Expand your professional career as a Supply Planner with Atkore in Harvey, IL. As a Supply Planner, you will be responsible for managing and supporting finished goods levels within our network of stocking locations. You will work cross-functionally with Operations, Product Management, Sales, and Customer Service teams to ensure supply availability and planning processes are executed to meet customer needs or that relevant tradeoffs are considered. You will also drive and support continuous improvement efforts and organizational excellence. This is a direct hire opportunity.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or other relevant fields; OR 4+ years of related work experience
• Bachelor’s degree accompanied by 1+ years of supply or inventory experience
• Proven experience in creating Excel/Database files (formulas, pivot tables, and troubleshooting)
• SQL query manipulation experience (preferred)
• Experience using an ERP system (SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards) (preferred)
• Experience using an MRP system (JDE, JDA Fulfillment, or SAP APO) (preferred)
• Proven self-starter with excellent time management skills, meeting deadlines and pivoting as priorities change
• Ability to work both independently and as an integral part of a team
• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Solid communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written correspondence across all organizational levels
• Willingness and ability to travel for up to 15% of assigned duties

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage finished goods (mixture of manufactured and purchased) transfer orders and inventory at internal (distribution centers and plants) and external (agent) stocking locations
• Optimize finished goods inventory levels and availability to effectively service customer demand while minimizing transportation costs
• Communicate availability and other supply information to internal stakeholders
• Track, report, and analyze performance results to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Investigate root cause and action shortfalls
• Identify and manage excess and obsolete products
• Work cross-functionally to achieve organizational results and drive continuous improvement in processes and tools
• Perform other related duties as assigned
