SUMMARY:
Expand your professional portfolio as a Purchasing Buyer with our client in Greenville, SC. As Purchasing Buyer, you will be responsible for the acquisition of company materials and services, management of vendors, and monitoring the flow of goods and services for our laboratory to keep it running. This is a direct-hire opportunity.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4+ years’ related business experience and/or associated purchasing and supplier management training within a medical device manufacturing environment
- Reference Laboratory experience
- Must be in office (Not Remote) M-F 8am-5pm
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Problem solving/critical thinking skills
- Negotiation skills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Source materials and packaging based on quality, cost, and availability
- Monitor supplier approval process and maintain performance records
- Place orders, generate PO’s from ERP system and confirm PO’s for products, packaging, raw materials and equipment
- Select and schedule freight carriers based on delivery date and price
- Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels of raw materials, packaging, finished goods, resale and equipment. Order and maintain inventory for warehouse supplies
- Post inventory adjustments, review lot number issues, and work with accounting to resolve discrepancies in ERP systems
- Maintain RGA’s, Recalls from vendors, etc.
- Help Implement procedures and policies for department
- Work with vendors to implement our strategic goals (barcoding, stocking agreements, blanket PO’s)
- Negotiate and obtain contractual pricing from vendors
- Maintain Pricing updates in system
- Maintain supplier records in ERP system
- Enter newly approved suppliers. Maintain raw material and WIP inventory cards. Enter new inventory numbers
- Communicate with suppliers to ensure required documentation is received including Safety Data Sheets, Certificates of Analysis, and Certificates of Origin
- Reconcile weekly cycle counts and annual physical inventory. Analyze variances for root cause
- Provide timely and accurate cost data and reporting to leadership, sales, and accounting
- Reconcile reports with accounting when issues arise
- Maintain supplier ISO performance files and non-conforming materials logs
